Marine Biology
Living in South Florida, learning about Marine Biology should be a must! This fun, interactive science elective will teach students about the beautiful ecosystem that surrounds us in South Florida. Students will learn all about the oceans, their make-up and geography. They will study all types of sea creatures from microscopic to macroscopic. They will learn about marine ecology and how we can help preserve and protect it. They will learn about estuaries, coral reefs and so much more! Each semester there will be at least one field trip. This class will be more hands-on and project based as learning about Marine Biology needs to be experienced more than just read about in a book. A firm foundation in Biology is required in this course to ensure the students can fully understand the concepts taught. This class will count as a science elective on the transcript.
