Chemistry with Lab Honors
This high school course provides a foundational and academic background in chemistry. Topics covered include the nature of science, classification, structure and changes in matter, atomic theory, significant figures, units, the periodic table, atomic structure, Lewis structures, molecular geometry, chemical bonding, formulas, reactions, balanced equations, the mole concept, stoichiometry, thermochemistry, thermodynamics, kinetics, acids and bases, redox reactions, solutions, gas laws, and equilibrium.
Students who successfully complete this course will develop problem-solving skills and a strong foundation in key chemical concepts, preparing them for success at the university level. Upon successful completion of all assigned work, students may be eligible to receive Honors Chemistry with Lab credit.
