Course Description:

Unleash your creativity in this hands-on, exploratory, mixed-media process art class! Process art is an approach to making art that prioritizes the act of creating over the final product. It’s about exploration, experimentation, and personal expression rather than achieving a predetermined outcome. In process art, the focus is on how materials interact, how ideas evolve, and how creativity unfolds in unexpected ways. Unlike traditional art forms that emphasize technical skill or a polished end result, process art encourages play, spontaneity, and risk-taking. It often involves mixed media, layering, and unconventional techniques, allowing the artist to respond intuitively to the materials. This approach fosters a sense of discovery, making it especially valuable for personal growth, stress relief, and artistic development. Each week’s lessons will be centered around a new “menu” of art materials to be explored in a supportive environment without any particular composition in mind. Students will learn to follow their artistic intuition to come up with unique works of art each week that express their emotions, feelings, thoughts, and ideas while gaining problem-solving and risk-taking skills and supercharging their imaginations! There are no homework assignments or prerequisites for this class. All supplies will be provided via the course Supplies Fee
