Physical Science with Lab Honors

In this course we will study the physical forces in God’s creation and how they relate to the natural world and the rest of the universe. The main topics covered are the basics of chemistry, physics, and earth science. Chemistry subjects include the properties and states of matter, atomic structure, chemical bonds, reactions, and energy. Physics subjects covered are motion, forces, energy, waves and sound, light, electricity, and magnetism. The course builds the relationship between science, technology, society, and real life. A significant experimental

component is integrated into the curriculum, requiring students to develop scientific skills through formal laboratory reporting.

To earn the Honors designation on their transcript, students must complete all assigned coursework with a high standard of excellence. Additionally, they are required to maintain a comprehensive Laboratory Notebook containing detailed, formal reports for every experiment performed throughout the year to satisfy the laboratory credit component.

Prerequisite

Successful Completion of Pre-Algebra
