Worldview

Course ID: 3270

This high school course is designed to help students develop a proper understanding of the Christian worldview. This class will be divided into three parts. In the first part students will have the opportunity to study various world views while comparing and contrasting them to the Christian worldview. In the second part of this course students will evaluate and learn how to deal with common objections to the Christian worldview. In the final third of this course students will explore a number of issues dealing with Christian Apologetics. During this time students will learn how to communicate and defend their faith with gentleness and respect.

1. Learning How to Think as Christians (Weeks 1-16)
— What is a worldview and why is it important?
— What is a Christian worldview?
— What are the major non-Christian world views and the essentials within those world views?
2. Learning How to Engage Others (Weeks 17-32)
— Introduction to Apologetics
— Gospel-centered interaction - How does the Gospel empower us to interact with others intelligently and with love?
— Introduction to C.S. Lewis
— The Moral Argument as an example of thoughtful engagement
